Dr. Ashok Natarajan joined RSB as a Professor in the Finance and Accounting Area in July 2018, after stints at the Thiagarajar School of Management, Madurai, and earlier in the USA , at California State University, Pomona, the Anderson School at UCLA, and at the University of California at Irvine. He obtained a Ph.D. degree in Management from the University of California, Irvine, and an M.S. in Accounting from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University. He is also a PGDM from the IIM, Calcutta, and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Madras Christian College, where he was also the holder of the National Science Talent Scholarship in Mathematics, awarded by the NCERT.
His primary research interests are in corporate governance, accounting and finance, and his research has been published in leading Accounting, Strategy, and Finance journals. He has two A* articles, as denoted by ABDC, to his credit, that were also published in journals on the FT50 list. Prof. S. Balachandran has a B. Tech (Mechanical Engineering) degree from IIT, Madras and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from IIM, Ahmedabad. He has 47 years of total work experience covering corporate career, consulting & training, and teaching.
His corporate career, spanning 27 years in well-known Indian and Transnational business groups, has been initially in functional areas like Marketing, Distribution, Product and Projects Management and later in General Management. The last two corporate positions held: Group VP (Corporate & Strategic Planning), Murugappa Group and CEO of Indian subsidiary of a transnational Engineering business group. He has lived and worked in Australia, and has a number of years of international business exposure to USA, Europe and S.E.Asia. Special expertise areas include turnaround management, business strategy, international business and mentoring & coaching.
He is passionate about teaching business management subjects and topics and has been a visiting faculty for 20 years in a number of premier business schools, including IIM Kozhikode, XLRI Jamshedpur, IIT Madras, IFMR, LIBA etc. He has special expertise in case teaching. He has 19 years of experience in Industry, Finance, Academics and Research. His research interest includes market efficiency, financial markets, behavioral finance and corporate finance. He has presented and published research papers at the national and International levels. Dr. Badri Toppur came back to India after his PhD from University of Massachusetts in 2002 to take up teaching and research assignments, and has been teaching at some leading business schools in the country before joining RSB as an Associate Professor and Head of the Centre of Excellence - Business Analytics. His areas of interest are Quantitative Techniques, Decision Analysis, Operations Research, Business Analytics and Computer Simulation. He has jointly conducted Executive Development Programs for leading companies like HP and Oracle.
Dr. Toppur’s bachelor degree was in Mathematics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and his M.S. was in Computational Mathematics and Operations Research, from Clemson University, South Carolina, USA. In the year 2002 he was awarded a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and Operational Research, on the area of heuristics for network design. Dr.Chakraborty is an Associate Professor in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource area, with Ph.D in Applied Psychology, M.A. (Applied Psychology), MBA (HR), PGDHRM, B.A. (Psychology). Dr. Chakraborty is a Psychologist and is interested in the area of understanding human behaviour. Dr. Chakraborty has been associated with the academic industry for the past 14 years. Prior to joining Rajalakshmi School of Business, she has worked with Presidency University, Bangalore as an Associate Professor. Previously she was working as a faculty and Dean PGDM programme at Thiagarajar School of Management, Madurai. A University rank holder throughout, Dr. Chakraborty was an ex-research fellow with Indian Council of Medical Research. She has hands on experience in coaching and counseling too.
As a Trainer, Dr. Chakraborty has facilitated approx. 100 sessions for both public and private sector organizations in the areas of Behavioural Science and Psychometric Testing. Mr. Vikas Arya, 31, is at an advanced state of completing his doctorate in Digital Brand Management from DIT University, Dehradun-Uttarakhand. He submitted his thesis in May 2019, and expects to be called for his thesis defence by the 2nd week of August 2019. Earlier, Prof. Arya did his MBA from the Institute of Management & Development, New Delhi during 2011-13, prior to which he obtained his bachelors’ and masters’ degrees in psychology. Immediately prior to joining RSB, he was associated with the University School of Business-Chandigarh University, Punjab, as an Assistant Professor. During his stint in Chandigarh University, he successfully organized an International Conference on Sustainable Development & Social Innovation in Business as a co-convener. The conference was hosted by Chandigarh University in association with Arkansas State University, New York, USA, and Emerald Publishing, India during 25th – 26th February 2019, where more than 250 authors presented their research works.
Mr. Arya is Editor of special issue of FOUR International Journals listed in Scopus & ABDC-C categories. He has an impressive track record in research, having one ABDC-A category publication in IJIM (Impact Factor 5.2), two papers in ABDC-B category, one paper in ABS-2nd Rank, and two papers in ABDC-C category. In all he has eight publications in Scopus indexed journals. He has attended more than thirty five National and International Conferences (Mostly at IITs/IIMs) along with more than ten workshops/FDPs, and presented his research paper based on EMOJIs at Copenhagen Business School, Denmark during 2017.
He is an expert on data analysis using SPSS, AMOS, ADANCO, SMART_PLS and he has imparted training on “Research & Data Analysis” and “How to Write a Paper for Category Publication” in a workshop organized at national level. K L Bhaskaran has over 36 years of managerial experience in the functional areas of Manufacturing, Materials Management, Supply Chain management and Project Management. He retired from TCS as General Manager.
He is a visiting faculty at IIM Kozhikode, NMIMS Mumbai, SIOM, Nasik, Amrita School of Business, Coimbatore, TSM Madurai and other Institutes.
He is also a Corporate Trainer and some of his clients include Cap Gemini Mumbai, Tata Motors Lucknow, Genpact Hyderabad, SAP Bengaluru and DuPont Delhi.
Dr.C.SELVARAJ started his career at the Madras Institute of Development Studies as a Research Officer. Later he joined the Department of Economics, Madras Christian College, his alma mater. After serving this institution for more than three and a half decades, Dr.Selvaraj retired as Head of the Department of Economics in 2010. Subsequently he took charge as the Principal of St. Thomas College of Arts and Science, Chennai. During this long career Dr.Selvaraj has authored number of books, project reports and articles. He has supervised a number of Ph.D Theses, M.Phil Dissertations and has been a member of many Doctoral Committees. He was also appointed as a Governor’s Nominee in the planning board of Alagappa University, Karaikudi and served as member in Academic Councils, Boards of Studies, Boards of Examiners in Autonomous Colleges and Universities for his distinguished record of service he was awarded the Best Teacher Award in 2004.
Dr.SELVARAJ has been a Consultant Economist for a number of World Bank aided projects in areas of Monitoring and Evaluation, Resettlement and Rehabilitation and Social assessment studies. As a Visiting Faculty Dr.Selvaraj is associated with Madras School of Economist, University of Madras, Rajalakshmi School of Business, SRM University and earlier Indian Institute of Technology (Madras) He was Director of many International Programmes and organized conferences. He was also a visiting professor at the Georgia University System, Atlanta, USA. Although his interest in Economics and other Social Sciences his quite diversified, the main focus areas of his teaching and research are Economic Theory, Macro and Monetary Theory and International Trade and Finance.
