The Rajalakshmi School of Business (RSB), Chembarambakkam, Chennai, conducted a Management Development Programme on the “Art of Storytelling” on the 14th and 15th of November, 2019 in Chennai.
This experiential learning programme introduced leaders of organizations to the importance of storytelling in organizations and showed them how to use the art of storytelling to build organizational processes and achieve organizational change.
Prof Kandaswamy Bharathan, Joint Managing Director, Kavithalayaa, Visiting Faculty, IIMA & ISB Hyderabad, famed executive producer of many award-winning movies, was the distinguished faculty for the two-day event, for a select group of top-level executives of large corporates, and leaders of NGOs. Dr. Tanusree Chakraborty, Associate Professor at RSB, provided a supporting role as a faculty resource person.
About 25 people participated in the event which included educationalists, corporate heads, industrialists, doctors, eminent persons from press and media to mention a few.
The participants gained a differentiated learning experience through “artful reflection” and participated in workshops where they developed their own stories on leadership and change.
Talking about the thoughtful programme by RSB, Mr. Kandaswamy Bharathan said, “I believe storytelling is the most important leadership skill for today’s leaders. I am very happy to be collaborating with Rajalakshmi School of Business and Rajalakshmi Group of Institutions for this pioneering workshop on the art of storytelling.”
Dr. Haree Shankar Meganathan, Vice Chairman, Rajalakshmi School of Business, welcomed the gathering, and Professor Gautam Ghosh, Director, RSB, inaugurated the programme.
“This programme has been developed to help executives gain through artful reflection and build leadership skills,” said Dr. (Mrs.) Thangam Meganathan, Chairperson, Rajalakshmi Group of Institutions.
While addressing the gathering, Mr. Gautam Ghosh mentioned that “This is a programme that finds applicability across all verticals and all cross-functional areas. I feel that those who participated in the programme will be able to apply it in their respective areas.” While Dr. Haree Shankar Meganathan said that the programme was a first-of-its-kind for corporate to enable executives to develop leadership skills and hoped that the participants had a fulfilling experience. He also extends his heartfelt thanks to Mr. Kandaswamy Bharathan on behalf of RSB and Rajalakshmi Group of Institutions for leading the workshop so gracefully.
The thought-provoking workshop that was held for 2 days was a grand success as it enabled the eminent personalities to explore a different perspective while they learned how to put them to use in their respective areas of expertise. Rajalakshmi School of Business along with Rajalakshmi Group of Institutions will continue to bring out such unique, creative workshops in future.
